Summary
POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the F.M. Kirby Childrens Center Associate Director, the Director of Child Care Operations carries the overall responsibility for managing center wide enrollment. Additionally, the incumbent will have fiscal responsibilities within the operating budget and is responsible for ongoing, monthly expense and revenue review.
The Director of Child Care Operations contributes to the implementation of high-quality programs for infants, toddlers, and preschool. Responsibilities also include curriculum development, program supervision, staff recruitment and training, evaluation and professional development.
The incumbent cultivates relationships with families, children, volunteers, colleagues, staff, community partners and others. The Director of Child Care Operations has a contributing role with partnerships to advance early childhood education programs and enrollment, including Grow NJ Kids and Preschool Expansion initiatives with the Morris School District.
As a member of the Kirby management team, the Director of Child Care Operations actively participates as needed in a variety of cross-center projects and initiatives that advance the Y mission and strategic plan goals.

Experience/Certification Required:
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelors degree preferred.
Meet the educational, work experience and all qualifications as set forth in the Manual of Requirements for Child Care Centers, State of NJ, for the Program Supervisor qualifications.
Meet the educational, work experience and all qualifications of Camp Director as set forth in the New Jersey Youth Camp Safety Act Standards.
Possess at hire and maintain CPR, First Aid, AED & oxygen certifications, or obtain within 3 months of hire.
Excellent communication and customer service skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Ability to work in excess of a 40 hour work week when required.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Ability to walk, stand, and sit (including on the floor) for long periods of time while maintaining alertness for several hours at a time. May also require bending, kneeling, leaning.
Manages PTO appropriately and coordinates supervision coverage accordingly.
Potential exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids is possible.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
Ability to speak concisely and effectively communicate.
Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical situations and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency. Able to administer first aid.
